When's The Last Time Ford Had 8 Wins?

With Carl Edwards' win in the Dickies 500 at Texas last weekend, this gave Carl his 15th career win and 8th win of the 2008 season in his Ford. This is the 10th win for Ford overall this year.

The last time a Ford driver won 8 times in a season was back in 1994 when Rusty Wallace powered his black Miller Genuine Draft No. 2 Ford to 8 wins.

Of course, Carl has a long way to go to tie or break the record set in 1964 by Ned Jarrett in his Bondy Long Ford with 15 wins. Sigh... I'm not sure with Chevy's dominance that Ford will ever see that record anytime soon.

If Carl Edwards gets one more win, he will tie Richard Petty for his 9 wins in his Ford in 1969.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves here. First, we have to have good runs, and catch Jimmie Johnson. A deed most believe is not likely this year.
