Making this short and sweet, but in case you had not heard, Martin Truex Jr. will be joining Furniture Row Racing for the 2014 racing season, leaving Michael Waltrip Racing behind. It's a multi-year contract.
But..
What caught my attention in all the news out there was that he did have other opportunities out there, but none of them with a solid sponsorship backing in place.
To me, that means that he doesn't have the most lucrative situation to barter from, if he could only sway on sponsor to his side.
And that surprises me since he has done so well behind the MWR NAPA wheel. And the cool, funny ads. (Have you noticed that NAPA ads have all but disappeared with Waltrip in them?)
But be it as it may, congrats to Martin for landing the gig. It will probably be a good fit.
