Watkins Glen: Kyle Busch DID The Right Thing After The Race

Whether Kyle Busch snaps at the media, or remains silent, it seems that fans are going to be riled up about the man, no matter what.

I've been hearing both camps about after the race at Watkins Glen and how Kyle Busch declined interviews after the race, and exited the track.  Folks can't seem to decide for sure if they like or hate what he did.

Let me put you into a certain frame of mind:

There you are, having spent the day chasing the point of this 43-car pack of hungry drivers.  You are the man (or woman) to challenge if someone wants to win. Things are tough because you have a job on your hands with Brad Keselowski and Marcos Ambrose on your tail.  You can't slip up.  But then again, aside from bad luck and mechanical issues, this should be a no-brainer.  Right?

Then suddenly there's a foreign substance on the track.  Things are getting dodgy out there.  You're pretty sure you can pull it out and hang on.  But then you slip a bit and the guy behind you takes you out, and from all accounts, at no one person's fault.  It was one of those racing deals.

But with all the bad luck, no matter what the source, well, it has to be pretty frustrating.  And the juices are pumping hard from the competitive scenario you just got dumped in, and those juices have nowhere to go.  What's the man to do?

He already has a few marks against him for previous brash words, familiar tendencies and pit-road bumper car moves.  But it looks like what he's done is take his frustrations and bottled them up at the right time.

"There's a time to be a human being and have an opinion, and there's a time to sell cars," as Steven Spielberg once put it.  And when the boys are at the track, they're selling cars.

It looks to me, that Kyle has figured something out and that's when to say things, when not to say things and when to get out of dodge because he realizes his mouth is about to write checks he can't cash!

Yep, I think Kyle Busch did the right thing, if he really was that mad.

(Of course, he could prove me all wrong by showing up and Michigan and venting on, or wrecking someone.  We'll see!)
