One of the more persistent items of conversation this week has been the statement from Brad Keselowski, who more or less made note that the Hendrick garage takes greater risks to get the wins. (Paraphrasing here.)
The gang over at the Hendrick garage seems to have taken the statement in stride... sort of. But one can also take Brad's statement as a bit of a shot at his own shop, if you want.
I'm not sure why his statement is making the rounds as much as it is. He himself has said he says things that need saying and doesn't have the filter some folks do. So no surprise, but to be honest, that double-edged sword could be wielded here and Penske Racing could be asking Brad if he's trying to say something to them, as if, they should take more risks to get Brad more wins?
Any way you look at it, I think Brad makes the NASCAR environment more exciting. He'll speak his mind and keep it fresh and honest. I can see him carrying the banner that Jeff Burton has carried over the years when it comes to the safety of the drivers. In fact, as I see Brad wise up through the years, I can see him leading the charge for safety measures. He's got the daring to speak his mind. When focused, he could be a force of good for NASCAR.
Until then, fans can just enjoy the ride he brings to the show.
Speaking of which, Brad Keselowski be driving a tribute car this weekend, paying tribute to Rusty Wallace and his blue and white deuce scheme. That will be neat to see!
