Due to lack of sponsorship and performance (Which can sometimes be one and the same) Chip Ganassi closed the doors on Dario Franchitti's Sprint Cup team, following up his actions with the statement that if he kept at Franchitti's team, he ran the risk of dragging the other two teams down with his.
With Franchitti being a former IndyCar Series champ, I'm a bit surprised at how he's faltered in the NASCAR scene. I can't decide if it's a lack ability to transition to the style of NASCAR and it's kind of equipment, or if he just never got the best opportunity available to him be being in the NASCAR Ganassi garage.
For now, we'll never know.
