I was listening to Sirius Satellite Radio earlier today and Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch were talking about the test they just had over at Talladega Speedway.
Effectively, Jimmie noted that the slingshot affect was not there during the tests because of the hole the new cars punch out of the air and when you go to pass someone, it's like letting out a parachute and if you are not careful, you not only don't make the pass, but you may lose the draft line in the process, even when getting back in line.
They did note how very stable the cars were in the draft, but this upcoming race at Talladega could be very interesting, it could be very boring with a big single file line all race.
We'll see.
