DEI: When Does Five = Four?

So NASCAR has for some time said there will be a four car limit per team. It ain't new news. Right? There are some exceptions to the rule, then you need to let DEI know that!

DEI had to withdraw it's No 81 Regan Smith entry from Watkins Glen cause NASCAR smacked their hand for a technicality regarding a 5th car for any team.

Teams are permitted to enter a fifth car for a maximum of seven races for a rookie to get the driver familiar with Sprint Cup competition but Smith has 20 starts this year. NASCAR said he did not fit the criteria for the fifth-car exception.

Bad DEI, bad! Sit! Stay!
